The historic and very beautiful Northumberland World Heritage coastline is where you will find the magnificent holy island of Lindisfarne, and Eden Cottage. Linked to the mainland by a tidal causeway, across which you can drive, the island sits just to the south of Berwick-upon-Tweed, and is in sight of the striking edifice of Bamburgh Castle, seat of the ancient Northumbrian Kings.
Eden Cottage is a delightful 18th century stone cottage, which has recently undergone a program of refurbishment, to make it a wonderfully tranquil location for a family holiday. The cottage has two twin bedrooms and sleeps four exceedingly comfortably.
Downstairs it has a lounge with an imposing stone fireplace and a wood burning stove, exposed beams, TV with Freeview, a DVD and CD player, books, games, plus lots of comfy seating. Central heating and hot water are supplied by an oil-fired boiler, for year round comfort. The dine-in kitchen is spacious and well equipped with everything you need to make great meals for all, including; a hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, ironing facilities, iPod docking station and radio.
Both bedrooms are spacious and comfortable charming beamed ceilings. The family style bathroom is fully tiled, and has a bath with a shower over it and a screen, plus a toilet, basin, and heated towel rail.
There is plenty to see and do on the island and in the local area. The region is famed for its beauty and many castles. On the island the cottage is within a short stroll of the castle and the abbey, and has magnificent golden sandy beaches. Alnwick Castle, where the Harry Potter films were made is only a few miles away, and the historic Borders market town of Berwick-upon-Tweed has amazing Elizabethan fortifications and cannons on its town ramparts.
